Privacy Policy for “GPI Field App” mobile
1. Introduction
At Gleeson Powers Inc., we are committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you use GPI Field App (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
This App is intended solely for internal business use by GPI employees and authorized contractors.
2. Information Collection and Use
For a better experience while using our App, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information (PII). The information collected is as follows:
A. Account & Contact Information
- E-mail address
Used as your login identifier as well as to communicate with you via E-mail related to your use of features in the App or related to your relationship with Gleeson Powers Inc. Your email address will never be sold or shared for third party marketing, advertising, or political purposes. - Mobile Phone Number
Used to communicate with you via SMS Text Messages related to your use of features in the App or related to your relationship with Gleeson Powers Inc. Your mobile number will never be sold or shared for third party marketing, advertising, or political purposes. - Your Initials
Used by features in the app to tag resources you create in the app with you.
B. Onboarding & Employment Information (High-Sensitivity PII)
When you complete onboarding within the App, the following information may be collected for employment, payroll, HR, and legal compliance:
- Personal Identity Information
Full legal name, home address, date of birth, email, phone, gender, race, veteran status. - Government Identifiers & Work Eligibility Information
Social Security Number (SSN), citizenship status, USCIS/A-number, I-94 number, foreign passport details, and documentation required for Form I-9. - Tax & Withholding Information
Federal Form W-4 details (filing status, dependents, deductions, extra withholding), and state withholding forms (e.g., Massachusetts M-4 and similar state forms). - Direct Deposit & Payroll Information
Bank name, routing number, account number, and account type. - Emergency Contact Information
Name, Relationship, Phone Number - Document Images & Attachments
Photos/scans of identification (e.g., driver’s license, passport), Social Security card, immigration documents, OSHA card, Apprentice Card, and signature
Encryption & Access Limitation
All onboarding and HR data submitted through the App is encrypted at rest using AES-256 bit encryption in secure backend systems.
After submission:
- The mobile app cannot read back or retrieve onboarding information.
- Only authorized HR/payroll personnel with appropriate access rights may view this data.
- GPI enforces strict internal controls to limit visibility of high-sensitivity PII.
C. Device & Technical Information
Device identifiers
Used to support Push Notifications in the mobile operating system and to tag non-PII data in the app, such as Photos taken as part of the app’s core features to the device taking the photo.
Diagnostic Data (via Sentry.io)
We want to inform you that whenever you use our App, in the case of an error in the app, we collect data and information (through sentry.io) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our App, the time and date of your use of the App, and other statistics. This data is used solely for supporting and improving the application.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Authentication and authorization (Auth0 + Firebase Custom Tokens)
- HR, payroll, onboarding, and employment compliance workflows
- Safety, jobsite operations, and quality documentation
- Direct deposit setup and payroll processing
- Internal communication (email, SMS, push notifications)
- Fixing errors, improving reliability, and supporting App functionality
We do not sell your information, track you for advertising, or use your data for marketing.
4. Cookies
Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device’s internal memory. Our App does not use these “cookies” for its base functions, but there are buttons in the App that open third party websites that in turn likely will use Cookies.
5. Service Providers and Use of Sensitive Personal Information
Gleeson Powers Inc. uses a limited number of third-party service providers solely as data processors to support the App and to fulfill employment, payroll, tax reporting, and legal compliance requirements.
Purpose Limitation
Personal Information collected through the App, including highly sensitive onboarding data such as Social Security numbers, bank account information, tax forms, and employment eligibility documentation, is collected and processed only to provide required App functionality related to employment, including:
- Payroll processing
- Tax withholding, reporting, and compliance
- Employment eligibility verification
- Fulfillment of federal, state, and local employment law
This information is not used for advertising, analytics, profiling, tracking, or any purpose unrelated to employment and payroll administration.
Service Provider Access
Third-party service providers may access Personal Information only to the extent necessary to perform services on behalf of Gleeson Powers Inc., such as:
- Secure authentication and authorization
- Application infrastructure and data storage
- Payroll and tax processing
- Error monitoring strictly for application reliability
6. Data Retention
Gleeson Powers Inc. retains Personal Information only for as long as necessary to support business operations, employment administration, and compliance with applicable federal and state laws.
Highly sensitive onboarding information required for payroll, tax reporting, and employment eligibility is used solely to generate required legal and regulatory forms and is then stored within GPI’s human resources systems. This data is only maintained long enough to generate the federal and legal forms required.
Other account and operational data is retained for the duration of your employment or authorized use of the App, or as otherwise required by law. You may request deletion of your App account and associated data by contacting privacy@gpi-firestop.com. Please note that certain employment and payroll records may be retained as required by law, and that deletion of required identifying information will result in loss of access to the App.
7. Security
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
8. Links to Other Sites
This App may contain links to other sites and mobile applications. When these links and/or buttons are touched, you will be automatically directed to these sites and/or applications. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
9. Third Party Technologies Used in the App

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
