PHOTOLUMINESCENT EXIT MARKINGS
The 2009 International Building Code (IBC) 1024, NFPA 70, and the International Fire Code (IFC) 4604.23 requires that all buildings - new and existing - over 75 feet tall must install Photoluminescent Exist Path Markings. (Read the exact language requiring photoluminescent markings from the 2009 International Building Code here.)
Photoluminescent Exit markings do not require electricity and therefore are a more energy efficient approach that can save lives by directing people out of a building in the event of a fire.
